2019–2022: annual figures from a retrospective report citing the Ministry of Natural Resources, published by NGS. The figures for 2023 and 2026 cover only part of the year. The figures of 77 and 83 for 2024–2025 refer to all wild animals and are not included in the bear series.
All three values come from one channel: the police duty office, as reported by the regional directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The 2026 figure covers an incomplete year. Multiple reports may concern a single event. The earlier figures of 30 and 35 reports made directly to the ministry come from a different reporting channel and are given separately in the note.
These are three published snapshots with different coverage. In 2021, reports concerned bears approaching people, including at industrial sites; in 2024, they concerned bears approaching settlements; in 2026, they were reports to dispatchers about bears near settlements and roads. They cannot be read as a single series from one service.
These are seasonal snapshots published on different dates. For 2018, the figure comes from a report published during that season: more than 280. An August 2019 article gives 200 for the previous year; the material obtained does not explain the difference. For 2026, the wording of the September interview is retained: “more than a thousand reports”.
