Krasnopolye and coal mines: preliminary distances
16 October 2026. These are distances between points on the surface, not a hydrogeological model or measurements to the nearest edge of mining operations.
The starting point is the settlement location at 53°25′44″ N, 91°22′22″ E (53.4288889; 91.3727778), published in the Krasnopolye entry. This representative village point is not the location of borehole No. 0618 or No. 786.
The calculation uses the haversine formula and an Earth radius of 6371 km. Mine coordinates from Global Coal Mine Tracker are site points, not outlines of open-pit workings. Values are rounded: greater precision would not be justified by the choice of points.

| Site | Mine point (latitude; longitude) | Straight-line distance from village point | Coordinate source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mayrykhsky | 53.390495; 91.165237 | 14.4 km, west-south-west | GEM |
| Arshanovsky | 53.398991; 91.095886 | 18.6 km, west | GEM |
| Izykhsky, catalogue point for the operating mine | 53.605952; 91.440754 | 20.2 km, north-north-east | GEM |
| Vostochno-Beysky | 53.308650; 91.380636 | About 13.4 km, south | GEM |
| Kirbinsky, point on the company website | 53.348950; 91.279319 | 10.8 km, south-west | Russian Coal, coordinates available in a search representation of the page |
For Kirbinsky, there is a stronger direct documentary location reference: Khakassia Government Resolution No. 606 of 01.08.2023 identifies plot 19:04:070403:315 for a heavy machinery site 10.9 km south-west of Krasnopolye. This is a distance to a specific land plot, not to the entire mine boundary. Draft acts from 2022–2023 also describe associated plots at 10–10.3 km; they do not replace the adopted act.
The list is not claimed to be exhaustive. For example, individual parts of the Izykhskoye deposit and Beloyarsky mine require separate location references; the point for the brick raw-material deposit “Izykhskoye (Western deposit)” must not be treated as an operating coal pit.
An exact distance from the water abstraction point to the nearest workings requires the borehole’s own coordinates and a dated outline of mining operations. Only the calculation described here, between published points, has been performed.
A separate point from the named OpenStreetMap polygon is used to label Izykhsky on the satellite map; the 20.2 km above was calculated specifically to the GEM point. Both locations and the reason for the difference are retained in the map description.
